Mobile Urgent Pet Exams in Steamboat Springs
& Beyond

Routt Home Vet offers mobile urgent exams for non-emergency concerns, bringing trusted veterinary care directly to your home with comfort, convenience, and compassion.

Compassionate, In-Home Veterinary Urgent Care

From limping and minor wounds to a suspected UTI or a new lump, not every health concern is an emergency — but it still deserves prompt attention. This mobile pet urgent care service is designed to assess these kinds of issues quickly and thoughtfully in the comfort of your pet’s home environment.

What Qualifies for an Urgent Exam?

Urgent exams are for situations that are uncomfortable or concerning, but not immediately life-threatening. Examples include:

  • Limping or sudden lameness
  • New lumps, bumps, or skin growths
  • Minor wounds, scrapes, or abscesses
  • Ear or eye issues
  • Signs of a possible urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in appetite/behavior
  • Sudden but non-critical health changes

Each case is evaluated individually to determine whether an in-home visit is appropriate. If the concern exceeds the scope of mobile care, support is provided for referrals to nearby emergency or specialty hospitals.

What to Expect from a Mobile Urgent Exam

Urgent exams are designed to provide thorough, responsive care while minimizing the stress of travel. During the visit, pet families can expect:

  • A thorough, hands-on evaluation of your pet’s symptoms
  • Review of recent changes in health, behavior, and environment
  • Diagnostics such as urine testing or wound evaluation (as needed)
  • Treatment, medications, or follow-up care recommendations
  • Guidance on when referral to a specialty or emergency clinic is warranted

We also help coordinate care if advanced diagnostics, imaging, or transport are necessary.

Please Note: Not a Replacement for Emergency Care

Routt Home Vet is not a full-service hospital or emergency care provider. Life-threatening conditions or cases requiring intensive, on-site treatment should be directed to the nearest emergency veterinary facility.

Urgent care appointments are offered on a case-by-case basis, with same-day or next-day availability when scheduling permits. For routine wellness exams, preventive care, and elective procedures, advanced scheduling is recommended.
